Merry Christmas

This year Santa came early. Since we were already in Arkansas for my sister's graduation, we went ahead and opened gifts with my side of the family. We had three short days at home and work then headed down to Alabama to have Christmas with Steve's side of the family. We traveled back to Tennessee for Christmas Eve and Christmas at home. We attended our church's Christmas Eve service, which Sophie really did well in. She wasn't quite sure why Steve and I got juice and crackers and she didn't, but she didn't complain a bit. Her favorite part was the last song, "Joy to the World" and she sang it at the top of her wee little lungs. We had a candlelight time at the end, and she said the candles were for baby Jesus' birthday. We agreed with her. The Tenpenny's had friends over after church and we had a great time of worship at their house too.

Christmas morning found Sophie driving her new car and checking out her big new tent. (it is a little bigger than I thought it would be) She also loved her band-aids and rubber ducks. It was a warm, sunny day so we went to the park to let Sophie drive her car, then we took her to the playground to swing. Steve cooked a special breakfast of whatever we wanted to eat! He spoils us with his good breakfast cooking! Later in the evening we went to Jamie and Suzanne's and had another sweet time of fellowship and time reflecting on God's Word being made flesh.
