Making do with what you have.

Sad but true, I have lost our digital camera. Either that or it was stolen. At any rate, I have been bummed out that I don't have pictures to post. Steve remembered that our video camera takes still pictures and so we tried it out tonight. They are not great pictures...but they will do so the grandparents can see their granddaughter.

So, on to what we have been up too. Sophie got her hair cut at a fun little place. She got to sit in a race car and everything. She cried and wasn't too thrilled with the spray bottle and scissors, then I said, " can she have a one of those suckers?", well, that was all it took to settle her down. She used it like a pacifier. She would cry, then pop it in her mouth and be fine!

Sophie is also way into her books. She has always loved to look at books, but is just now really looking at every page with great interest. She is learning at an amazing rate, and her language astounds us. We estimate that she has at least 60 words right now. Cutest words to hear her say are "elephant or e di dint" and "God or Dod" and banana or "ba ya ya". She is learning the shorter Catachism through some songs at church and it is so sweet to hear her answer the questions. Right now she nows the answers in bold. She may know more but can't answer in the full sentences yet. She loves to walk around and sing the first song.
WhoOoOo made you? God
What else did God make? God made all things
Why did God make you and all things? For His own Glory
Is there more than one true God? No there is only one true God
Can God do all things? Yes
Does God know all things? Yes
How can we glorify God? By loving him and doing what he commands.
Why are we to glorify God? Because He made me and takes care of me.

Her other favorite song right now is "The Wheels on the Bus". She does all of the motions and loves to do the babies on the bus. In fact, the other day I pinched Steve and he yelped and Sophie said "Wha Wha Wha" and did the motions looking like she was crying. It was pretty funny.
