Sophie now knows what camping means.

Sophie was so excited to use her sleeping bag before our camping trip that she fell asleep on it the night before we went on our trip.

We had such a wonderful weekend. We drove over to Montgomery Bell State Park to spend some family time together and relax. We were so happy that Katie and Chris decided to surprise us and come along too. We pitched tents, started a fire, played on the playground and used lots of bug spray! Poppa cooked a yummy supper over the camp fire. Pork Chops with carrots, potatoes and corn on the cob. Sophie loved every last kernel of corn.

On Saturday we got up and Poppa once again made a wonderful meal. He fixed us scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits (that were to die for). Katie and I took the kids out to the lake while Steve and Chris rented a boat and went fishing. Later in the day we switched and Steve and Chris took the kids to the creek and Katie and I went to "town" and walked around and had some Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream. (ssshhh, they don't know about that).

On the way home we stopped to get gas (.10 cents cheaper out there) and Sophie loved getting to go into the gas station and pick out her Skittles and had a blue Puppy Slushy. We managed to keep her awake until we got home. Night, night was at 6:30pm for her. We all slept like babies (well, sleeping babies).

We went camping this weekend too!
Even at 12 years old Anna still got ready for camping by sleeping on her sleeping bag a few nights before on the floor in her room. Too funny, huh? Well, I'm not rushing her to grow up. Looks like you guys had a great time, keep those memories coming!

How fun! I think camping is great for other people (lol). I'll have to blog about my camping experiences sometime. Suffice it to say that if you want it to rain, invite me to go on a camping trip.

We tried to go camping last weekend, but when we got there all of the camp sites were taken! We just drove on and spent the night at my sisters house. I'm so glad we didn't have to turn around and go home!
