Stolen from Steve's Blog

...It was drizzling rain and I went out to get the mail. We had a few envelopes. Two in particular caught my eye. The first was from the TBI. They were our background checks we needed for our adoption. I was a bit surprised because we only ordered them last week and our adoption checklist told us to go ahead and order those without delay because it could take a while. With our background checks in, we only have a couple more things we are waiting on before we can finish our home study. After we finish our home study we can begin applying for grants. Oh yeah, one detail. The home study costs $1000, which we don’t have. We’ve said from the beginning that we were going through this thing on faith.

The second envelope that caught my eye was from a family we know at church. We open it up to find a card explaining that some friends of theirs had heard about our adoption and wanted to help. Inside the card was a check for……yeah. $1000.

So, government documents being processed and returned to us in under a week, and arriving in our mailbox on the same day that a couple we don’t even know sends us enough money to cover our home study.

Sophie’s adoption was filled with wonderful moments like these where God provided again, and again, and again.

So, if you’re keeping score…

Soli Deo Gloria.

Why do we so quickly forget that sort of thing? (Or, at least, I do) We have plenty of stories like that, too. So important to remember that God is faithful!
